The meeting of the Network of Offices of the Historian and the Conservator of the Heritage Cities of Cuba took place, as usual, within the framework of the National Symposium Challenges in the Management and Administration of Cities
The day began with a greeting from Karla Vitantonino, representative in Cuba of the European Union NGO CARE, who regretted not being able to be in person at the event, but wished the participants the best aspirations to exchange and be filled with all the experiences that can contribute to the development of the territories
Within the XV National Symposium Challenges in the Management and Administration of Cities, which opened its doors this morning, the First Communication Workshop of the network of Offices of the Historian and Conservator of Cuba took place
On July 7th, 2008, the city of Camagüey received the news that its historic center would be inscribed on the World Heritage list, a condition granted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
When Museum Day is celebrated all over the world, with the theme of recovering and reimagining, from Camagüey and specifically with the love that characterizes the workers of the Historian’s Office, we celebrate the progress made in the Railway Museum project
Since 1999 the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city began to work on a project called Agramonte’s route, which had to do with the main spaces related to El Mayor in the territory
Because the Cuban Son is part of our heritage and Camagüey is the cradle of important soneros, the Office of the Historian of the city; has prepared a program of activities for the Day of the Cuban Son, to be celebrated on May 8th
The city, the one that welcomes its own and foreign children, also needs someone to take care of it, who makes it shine and show its past with pride. Preserving and spreading its culture, architecture, tiles and cobblestones is everyone’s job
We are that inseparable mix of history, culture and traditions. We work to keep alive the essence of a city that makes us fall in love with its charms
The alarife was a kind of master builder, who in colonial times took care of every detail in the constructions, so that the quality and finish were distinctive
Since 2014, the International Day of Cities is celebrated every October 31st, established by the United Nations with the aim of promoting a sustainable urbanization.
