As children we dream of being artists, we copy ballet steps and sing loudly in the shower; but many remain on the path of innocence while imagining themselves touching up to the clouds.

For those who remain firm in their endeavor, there are artistic education institutions to welcome their gifts and vocation from a very young age.

In Camagüey the Luis Casas Romero Vocational School of Art (EVA, by its acronym in Spanish), provides technical and practical preparation in the teaching of musical instruments; pursuing the mission of training an elementary-level graduate with high ethical, aesthetic and humanistic values, as well as with high cultural and artistic knowledge in their general training, music, ballet and modern dance.

In this institution, festivals and competitions are held at the center, provincial, national and international levels, which are sponsored by the Department of Artistic Education or the National Center of Art Schools, with the purpose of encouraging the effort and quality of the students.

From Amorosa Guajira to vocation

Camagüey praises the artistic teaching and the future of the manifestations that are educated in the EVA, with the name of an unforgettable patriot, musician and composer for our lands: Luis Casas Romero.

La Amorosa Guajira, along with emblematic themes from his repertoire are an inspiration for the generations that pass through that center.

Harlequins decking

The Office of the Historian and its Harlequin Artistic Complex, a sociocultural project that brings art closer to the community and nourishes itself from it; has inscribed pages of love where the children are the protagonists of each artistic manifestation; they demonstrate discipline, dedication and quality.

The project is not committed to being a quarry of schools of Artistic Education, but it has contributed many talents to this teaching over the years. In addition, it is pleased to have former harlequins who today are part of prestigious institutions and art groups in the country.

To all the teachers who cultivate the dream seed of the first ballet step or the spontaneous voice under the shower; congratulation and our sincere thanks for lovingly paying art that captivates joy.
