As Martí said, “the arts are the most beautiful thing that can come from a man “, those who let the beauty radiate every day in their work, received this morning a well-deserved honor.

As part of the proposals to celebrate the day of Cuban culture, the OHCC presented the “commemorative medal XX Anniversary of the Office of the Historian”, which distinguishes personalities, organizations and workers, committed to the hard work that is undertaken to preserve the city and its heritage and cultural values.

Representing the essential link with the people for whom we work and for their infinite professionalism in spreading the values of Camagüey, among the 20 who received the golden distinction stand out…

As institutions: the Provincial Book and Literature Center, the Camagüey Provincial Choir, the Camagüey Symphony Orchestra, the Maraguán Artistic Ensemble, Editorial Ácana and the Mural Campesino radio program.

Among the distinguished personalities are: the improvvisatore poets: Nelson Lima and Eneida Sosa, the writer: Niurquis Pérez, the musician and composer Andy Daniel, the historian Ricardo Muñoz, the artistic director Fernando Medrano Vireya, the musicologist Verónica Fernández, and the artisan Carmen Soto.

Thank You to all of them for carrying out a valuable work in common with the Office, in favor of heritage.

The music of the duo Mantra, between violin and guitar strings, played the song by Silvio Rodríguez La Masa, thus the beautiful tribute to 20 institutions and personalities of the city culture was sealed, a few hours after the date on which it was sung the Bayamo anthem for the first time.
