Cuban culture, two words that exalt the cells that make us up, two words that since the nineteenth century have distinguished the way forward and what to fight for.
On October 10th, the revolutionary process began with the independence struggles in the country; while on the 20th the National Anthem was sung for the first time in Bayamo. Every year, ten days of celebration mark the Day of Cuban Culture, due to these events.
This year, the celebration is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Palabras a los intelectuales, the 120th anniversary of the José Martí National Library, the bicentennial of the birth of Francisco Vicente Aguilera, and the 100th anniversary of the birth of the poet and essayist, Cintio Vitier.
From the land of the waterpots
From Camagüey the activities have not stopped, dance, nusic, literature, cinema, theater, visual arts; Along with the social media platforms, a step-by-step schedule has been followed that institutions spread in order to enhance our values.
The Historian’s Office created an online and face-to-face program that included publications of audiovisual capsules, investigative materials, premieres of shorts and documentaries; together with the presentation of medals and the seventeenth graduation of the students from the “Francisco Sánchez Betancourt” trade school.
Culture as the foundation of the nation radiates more light every day to that lonely star that flies on our flag, its colors and meaning continue to remind us who we are and what we fight for.
