United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization: UNESCO; celebrates his day every November 4th.
This specialized agency of the United Nations has been committed since its creation to improve the quality of life of people and promote peace, through international cooperation in the educational, cultural, communicational and scientific fields.
Its emergence and evolution is marked at the end of World War II, from where it set out to establish the educational systems of those allied countries affected by the war and that did not have enough resources to carry out actions in education and culture.
Efforts to achieve equality, world peace and quality of life for citizens; are the steps that this international organization has marked over time.
A little history
According to data on the history of this organization, in November 1945 a United Nations conference was held, with the participation of forty-four countries, of which thirty-seven approved the founding of UNESCO.
The UNESCO Constitution was signed, a document that came into force as of November 4th, 1946. Later, its main headquarters were inaugurated in the VII district of Paris, in 1958.
Nowadays, 195 countries are part of this international organization, as well as 8 associate members, joining efforts in guiding nations for a more effective management in the optimal use of their resources and their values, promoting peace and cultural diversity.
From Camagüey
It is impossible to talk about the work of UNESCO without mentioning the example and drive that results for countries like Cuba; and especially cities like Camagüey; with its Office of the Historian that rectors and manages each project in favor of education, culture and science to preserve the heritage that represents us.
