José Marín Varona Concert Hall wins important collateral prize and mention in the category of Restoration

On today´s afternoon, during the ceremony of delivery of the National Awards of Restoration and Conservation 2018, was awarded with the Prize of the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba (UNAICC) to the José Marín Varona Concert Hall of the Office of the Historian of Camagüey City.  This constitutes one of the most important collateral prizes that is given in the contest and was given to the building by the social character of its current function; also because its intervention constitutes a significant contribution to the territory in which it is inserted.  The professionalism of previous works, the project and the execution of the work were praised in a particular way.

The intervention of the current headquarters of the José Marín Varona Concert Hall, also won the First Mention of the National Restoration Prize, given by the National Heritage Council, due to the rigor and integral quality of the intervention and the project.

The National Awards went to the Palace of the Second Corporal (Havana), in the category of Restoration, and the Cemetery of Santa Ifigenia (Santiago de Cuba), in the Conservation.
