The Information and Documentation Center of the Archive of the Directorate of Investigations belonging to the Office of the Historian of the Camagüey City treasures valuable funds in its collection that invite us to a visit.
Precisely today, April 5, we remember Juan Torres Lasqueti, an illustrious Camagueyan who worked as a historian of the city and left his imprint on the book “Collection of Historical-Geographical and Statistical Data of Puerto Príncipe and its jurisdiction.
In the Information Center it is the first edition of this text, published in Havana in 1888; in addition to a portrait of the era that retains its figure.
Several centuries away, the story continues to beat in the heart of our ancient and modern city that remembers illustrious sons of Camagüey like Juan Torres Lasqueti.
