On the world day of awareness of autism the gestures of love, respect and hope were immediate. The Avellaneda Theater of the Camaguey City hosted parents, teachers and children to demonstrate in a sensitive gala how much affection and talent are able to provide people with autism.
Managers of the Office of the Historian of the City and of the special school Héroes del Moncada shared the meeting that brought tears to many of those present.
In the artistic show they joined the talent of parents and children, the groups Son Entero and Roots, while the folkloric company Taylor starred in a blue flashing street from the Plaza del Gallo to the Agramonte Square.
The messages of embracing hope making society a more accessible place to break down barriers and see with the heart were transmitted in each embrace, word and feeling.
Autism is not a disease, it is a disorder of child development that manifests itself differently in some people than in others, so it should not be generalized. People with autism spectrum disorders share many needs and desires with others of their same age without autism. We are all different, but we have the same rights.
While we look with the heart, because only with it we can see well, we will see the essential thing that is there, invisible in our eyes, and we can make our world a place for all without distinction, with rights, respect and love.
