Autism is not a disease, it is a child development disorder that manifests itself differently in some people than in others, so it should not be generalized. Those who present this disorder share many needs, desires to grow and dream like any other person. We are all different, but we have the same rights.
In Camagüey, the “Héroes del Moncada” school, which dedicates to educate children with this diagnosis, is a project of love that the Office of the Historian has assumed for several years: from constructive actions, support with equipment from international cooperation and concern for the family that has been formed is added to each of the tasks that the institution has assumed for this project of love.
The NGO Camaquito together with the Japanese embassy, were protagonists of the support to this educational center that, together with a project presented by the International Cooperation group of the Historian’s Office, made a donation of supplies for the school, with the objective of strengthen the socio-educational development of children, fostering a better school-home relationship and public spaces.
From home
Yudelis Pérez Carlos, director of the institution, whenever we visit the place, she is in charge of thanking the Office of the Historian for the unconditional dedication to the children, the family and the work group.
The “Héroes del Moncada” school has a space in artistic galas, city tours and in the heart of each person who knows its noble work.
The messages of embracing hope, making society a more accessible place to break down barriers and see with the heart, are repeated endlessly on a new day in which people are asked to become aware of this disorder.
As long as we look with the heart, we can continue to see the essential that is there, invisible to our eyes, and ready to love.
Today blue is multiplied to remind us that the immensity of the soul can also be painted that color.
