For a long time I had already wanted and had to make a visit, a visit that I imagined would be very pleasant, but as we all know and we have heard say a philosophical postulate that says:  ” … practice is the approach of truth…”  that is to say that when I was there in the place that I will talk about, it was a much more charming experience that I had imagined.

My visit was to Carmen Gladys Soto González’s house, the “MOM” of Carsueños project, place where besides living, she makes all those marvels, there in Juana Castillo Square, just in the house marked #8, in which its facade also shows the embedded bust, for luck of all of us and of her particularly, of that man so camagüeyano and authentic, as Carmen herself that is our National Poet Nicolás Guillén.

Rightfully Carmen’s work as well as of her work team, are already part of the patrimony of this city, because their artistic legacy has even transcended to the national and international marks, and for the happiness of all of us, today I found out in that place, of the pleasant news that they will participate as guests in the II Biennial of Design of Havana, of the one that Camagüey will be second venue from June 13th to 16th and that it is dedicated in this occasion to the 505 anniversary of the foundation of our village.

I admit that my expectations to see their creations were high, but when arriving there, and looking at each one of the dolls of diverse sizes and figures, clowns, small animals, hanging decorations, in short…, so many beautiful things that are part of diverse series, I wasg greatly impacted, because I knew about the work, the dedication and devotion conque they make it, but I never imagined it would move the stay so much in that place.

I felt like Carmen that they are alive that they speak to each other says”, because her faces, her eyes show us alone emotions able to transmit them, through the hands of these people that next to her every day, and almost for love to the art, they dedicate good part of her existence to give life to their dreams, those that make not dream alone to the smallest, but to all those that we stop to contemplate so wonderful creations.

Dissimilar are the activities and events in those that have participated and they participate, as well as the prizes and obtained recognitions, but nothing else gratificante for them that the smile of somebody to the one who they give him or they make him one of these jewels that leave those prodigious and divine hands that possess to arrive.

Happiness for this simple, humble, given and tenacious woman that, with their happiness, good humor and positive attitude in the face of the life, leads so necessary project that many times find to their step reefs and difficulties, but that it NEVER gives up their dreams and much less to continue making reality the dreams of others.
