With the purpose of analyzing the development of the editorial plan, checking agreements and shaping the plan for 2023, the Editorial Council of the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city (OHCC) met this morning.
With the presence of the Director of the institution, José Rodríguez Barreras, the main specialist of the “El Lugareño” publishing house, Irma Horta Mesa, offered an overview of its participation in the cultural life of the province. The presence of OHCC publications at the Havana International Book Fair, together with Ediciones Boloña; as well as the special and collateral presentations during the Fair in Camagüey, were some of the highlighted examples. The presentations of Senderos 23 and 24 magazines were also highlighted, which were released in a digital format.
The approval of two important texts within the special publication plan of the Cuban Book Institute was also addressed: “Camagüeyan architecture of the 19th century. Significance of illustration in the architecture of Camagüey”, by Dr. Arq. Henry Mazorra Acosta and “Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe. Documents from the XVI-XVIII centuries”, by Dr. Arq. Lourdes Gómez Consuegra. Both texts will materialize in 2023 thanks to the collaboration of the Provincial Center for Books and Literature and the editorial production of El Lugareño.
For the editorial plan of 2023, the inclusion of a book was approved, whose content is the result of the investigative work of the renowned historian Francisco Luna Marrero. “Jesús Suárez Gayol, the blond of Che’s guerrilla” will compile biographical data on Gayol, as well as opinions and experiences of several comrades in the struggle. Senderos Magazine and its upcoming print editions also occupied time for dialogue among those present.
