The Credit and Insurance Bank located at Salvador Cisneros # 315, old Mayor 1, is located in one of the corners of the Workers’ Square, formerly La Merced.
The building where the Royal Bank of Canada was located -today Bank of Credit and Commerce – located in Workers’ Square, already has more than a century of existence. Since its founding in 1906 to date, it has always functioned as a bank. It was designed by the engineer Ignacio E. Agramonte.
In 1923, the architect Manuel García Zubizarreta carried out an extension in which he respected the conception of the existing façade. This building belongs to the eclectic style. It shows us a façade with molded openings, a straight parapet and a balustrade on the balconies.
There is a balcony that overlooks Cisneros street supported by singular corbels decorated with floral motifs. The main corner entrance is nested by a chamfer and semicircular arch. The surface of the façade imitates masonry.
