This November 11th, the 152nd anniversary of the incorporation of Ignacio Agramonte to the independence struggle is celebrated.

In the emblematic park that bears the name of El Mayor, and in commemoration of that anniversary, the 2020-2021 course of the Heritage Classrooms Project began.

It was created by the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city in close collaboration with the Municipal Department of Education. The objective of this alliance between institutions is the learning of patriotic feelings and the recognition of personalities and historical events of our territory among the new generations.

“It is trying to understand the historical event, bringing the student closer to the place where the events occurred, it is scrutinizing history,” according to José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city.

The new Heritage Classrooms course is inaugurated on this very symbolic date for the people of Camagüey, being a project that promises a more comprehensive and committed preparation to the historical legacy of our province.
