As José Martí said, “art is the most beautiful thing that a man can exude”, those who show the beauty every day in their work, receive a well-deserved congratulatory message every February 18th.

The team of art instructors “José Martí” is a tribute to the artistic sensitivity of the Apostle. His work in the Houses of Culture of the City of the Waterpots brings creativity to different communities and schools; while it awakens in the little ones their cultural vocations and the way of appreciating art.

The first graduation was on October 20th, 2004, although not all graduates keep working, even their festivals and presentations give something to talk about.

With many of these sensitive young people, the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city (OHCC) carries out its cultural projects.

Instructors at the OHCC

The instructors of the Harlequin Artistic Group are part of our great family. If anyone puts their efforts into safeguarding Camagüey’s cultural heritage, it is the Cultural Management Center.

The Harlequin Artistic Group, with his little ones, brings together in theater, dance, music and painting, the carelessness to act and create, you can see how happy they are doing what they like, so let’s value the idea of creating a project so noble and true, 20 years ago; which without the work of the many instructors who have left their mark would not have succeeded.

Other work stations within the OHCC are honored with graduates of this career.

In this group we place our photographer: José A. Cortiña Friman, the administrator of the Office of Cultural Heritage: Danilo Arredondo, the specialist in Cultural Promotion: Anisbel Guerra Sánchez and the specialist of the art gallery Fidelio Ponce: Dairel Arcos.

They all dedicate themselves to creativity with great passion, not only in their work, but also in the support and development of galas and events, where the arts will always be the main guest.

The versatility of young instructors

In each celebration, Anita makes herself feel in different ways. With her patience to work with children, she always manages that between colors and poetry, they leave their tender message to the city.

On the other hand, Dairel either makes us dance or he sings something romantic, because his good humor and easiness is contagious.

Danilo is also witty, but he surprised us by playing the patriot Perucho Figueredo, in the recently released film dedicated to El Mayor, a fact that denotes his theatrical gifts, in addition to his love for photography.

I left the photographer Friman for last, because he can summarize with a snapshot the work of his colleagues, while he proposes curious images of his beloved Camagüey with lights, shadows and daring angles, which they say in a whisper; everything that this land inspires.

Considerations

To tell my colleagues how important their work is in our heterogeneous group, I appeal to Fidel with the famous words to intellectuals, delivered in June 1961 at the José Martí National Library, when he stated that “the Revolution means, precisely, more culture and more art”.
