Yes, just a few days ago I had the opportunity, once again, to visit a place that I am sure is not sufficiently known, nor visited, nor truly appreciated by the people of Camagüey as it should be, including its exploitation, in the good sense of the word is quite scarce.

The Information Center belonging to the Office of the Historian, located on the second floor of the Railway Museum, is a place that stores data, documents, references, in short, much more than perhaps some user imagines that it can be found there.

And if by chance some information is requested and they do not have it, you will never leave empty-handed or discouraged, no, because they are in charge of locating and investigating where you can find it, and that with the kindness that characterizes them since their incipient creation when there were only two or three people who worked in it and they were in a small office located in the headquarters of Carmen Square.

 From my experience

My visit had the objective that the second-year students of the English Language career belonging to the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, knew first-hand what they can find there and also being able to transmit how valuable it is to have an institution of this type in our territory. Very interesting was the detailed explanation of how, in the Conservation Workshop, the documentary collections manage to be transformed and new ones remain, through an extremely sophisticated and costly process, so that the researchers are able, after consulting them, to offer so many theses important on this or that, a fact, or this or that property.

That morning, I am sure, this institution, apparently simple, with a calm behavior on the part of all its workers, and we could even say, slow, won admirers, because my students, in addition to being surprised by what they saw and heard there, left convinced that that they would return to look for valuable information to carry out future work.
