Well, yes, this is a different summer, as it happened last year, for known reasons, but the Office of the Historian has not left behind the plan that it usually carries out.
Concerts, contests, book presentations, recreational activities for children, and even virtual tours to learn more about the work of the different cultural institutions and public spaces that comprise it, have been designed; by the way, with a very good quality, since every day there are more collaborators and specialists with great preparation. Some who make up the official staff and others, which only because of their high sense of belonging to this project carry out their work.
Remembering…
We will certainly miss everything that we did live, yes, because we will not deceive ourselves either, the simple fact of being in direct contact with heritage and its values is something amazing that any citizen would like to remember; But as we are a people that adapts and seeks alternatives, we find them and we do not stop doing it. Furthermore, in these moments, which is when we must not allow children to get bored at home more than usual, and furthermore, we are called to contribute so that this quarantine period, which is already long, do not affect their development.
Invitation…
I propose then to dream, and see us walking, or on the bus, the train, and virtually tour our streets, squares, small squares, full of charms, stories, even legends that have remained forever in the imaginary of Camagüey and also , participate in the contests with the same enthusiasm that we did years ago, with the hope that each time we are closer to seeing each other again, to sharing these spaces, with our people, those who daily strive because this “ … .pleasant region of shepherds and hats …”, as Guillén called it, our National Poet, finally free itself from this barbarous disease that is causing so much harm to humanity.
Lift your spirit then, cheer up and join us in this, which will be a new experience, from which we always learn something interesting.
