With the presence of Ricardo Ronquillo Bello and other members of the Union of Journalists in Cuba, the award for the Academic Project that integrated the topic of Hypermedia Journalism was presented at the headquarters of the UPEC in Camagüey by the Department of Journalism and Communication of the University of Camagüey and the Office of the Historian of this city.
The First Virtual Press Festival magically drew that physical approach that COVID-19 has prevented us. According to Ronquillo, the idea connected from Havana to dozens of newsrooms in the country and also showed how a new model of public press for socialism can be built.
The participants in the awarded project explained the motivations that led them to merge the theoretical-practical knowledge, the feedback experience between both departments, together with the communicative product that is clearly presented on the website of the Historian’s Office.
Journalists from various media in the province, students and winners shared their opinions about this First Festival, which can become the fundamental platform to stimulate the necessary transformation in our media.
