Just a few months ago I felt one of the strongest emotions of recent times, when I had the opportunity to attend our largest coliseum, the Main Theater, to enjoy the staging of the play ”Cantata”, masterfully performed by our Ballet of Camagüey, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra and the Provincial Choir, with the valuable collaboration of the Choir of the neighboring Ciego de Ávila, which came to give us one of the most special moments lived by the people of Camagüey for some time, from my modest opinion as a spectator.
Those who, like me, had the great opportunity to see its premiere, so many years ago, exactly in the distant 1971, know that, although its interpreters, its technical and artistic team may have been other, this one, the one we enjoyed in April, was something extremely innovative and conceived with extraordinary daring, because also, who imagines, like me, the sacrifices and dedication to which the culture sector was fundamentally subjected, to carry out such a sumptuous setting, values much more what they offered us with a resounding success.
From the moment we crossed the lobby and climbed the stairs, the expectation of what we would see was noticeable, since the background was strong, however, the result was incredible, since the added value of live music, with those soloists backed by the Symphony , made the walls of the theater rumble for a final applause to honor such magnificent performances.
Experience in our hearts
I am sure that not only me, but, many others remember, but also, we live and delight ourselves with this new installment, which made our hearts beat faster, and from there we left with the pride of having attended one of the most complete artistic events of the last years in our city.
Congratulations to our ballet company that demonstrates day by day its preparation and professional rigor, and also to the other groups that showed off giving us samples of good artistic work.
