He has always liked the world of communication. At only 13 years old, Víctor de Miranda Betancourt enjoys doing promotions on social networks, reading in his school morning ceremonies and listening to a radio program with great pleasure.
Since he discovered the magic of sounds from within, he decided to take that path, and for this reason he attended one of the summer workshops offered by the Historian’s Office, “Communicating Heritage”.
The radio dazzled him
Victor claims that it was something beautiful. He came to Radio Camagüey as part of the planning of the course that rotates through different traditional media. Since he saw the inside of the studio and the way to make a program, he knew that he wanted to be a radio host; either as a broadcaster or in journalistic work -something that he still has time to define.
Without finishing the week scheduled for the workshop, he went and spoke with his teacher Lizandra Góngora so that she could put him in contct with the director of the Acércate youth program. Since the end of July, he has been attending punctually with cultural proposals that he offers to adolescents and young people; while he gives his opinion from his point of view, of the subject that the radio program addresses every Saturday.
Víctor has integrated very well into the group, he is always willing to learn and help. He looks happy in his short time on the mic; and he has added new listeners through live audio on the Internet, where Acércate also airs.
He has a strong and timbre voice, which he wants to improve for the media. He is very grateful to the Office of the Historian’s summer workshop, which, in addition to showing him the ABC’s for photography and video editing, opened the door to what he is determined to shape in order to dedicate his future: radio.
Our Príncipe Audiovisuals group is satisfied with contributing from its work to the training of the new generations, while adding voices in favor of the city’s heritage. We hope that many other young people like Víctor discover their way here.
