The Creative Industries project “Arte Plaza” is funded by the European Union and the Camoes Institute of Portugal; it also has the enforcement of the non-governmental organizations CARE Cuba, OIKOS and the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city. It began to take shape in 2019 in the historic center of this city.

Five squares would be the protagonists; But for this, specialists and entrepreneurs should also go through months of training and learning.

Pandemic and isolation tried to stop the project; but workshops, meetings, research and improvement continue to bet on a dream that is becoming a reality.

The next step began already in the Interpretation Center of the city, with the aim of training the trainers; and although it seems like a tongue twister, Kadir Agramonte, a sociologist at the Directorate of the Master Plan and Management of the Office of the Historian, tells us about it.

“The objective of training the trainers is to provide them with the tools so that they will be in charge of preparing and guiding the people who are going to undertake and join the creative industries project in the future.

In this first moment, 25 specialists will be trained, with economic topics that impact on heritage and conservation. Other topics also related to business, entrepreneurship and marketing will be taught soon; in addition to legal matters, brand, design and intellectual property. ”

The training dedicated to specialists from the Heritage Directorate that are committed to adding talent and dedication to the creative industries project will be in session for several days.
