Summer invites us to find new ways to enjoy it, so from the Office of the Historian, a special programming has been prepared.
Social networks are our main stage, from them you can enjoy broadcasts of concerts, workshops, tours and virtual visits through the institutions, projects and public spaces of the Office. Other options will also be available on the institution’s Facebook profile and YouTube channel.
Enjoying summer vacation since July
July begins with music from the 23rd to the 26th; with the purpose of celebrating the 4th Anniversary of the José Marín Varona Concert Hall; Therefore, the presentations that were broadcast during the Camagüey culture week of the current year 2021 will be reposted.
While the virtual tours of institutions, projects and public spaces related to the work of the Office, are available every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of both months; with a fixed broadcast schedule at 9:00 am.
For the month of August, the summer workshops are planned to deal with health and drawing topics. With transmission hours starting at 9 am; invites every Monday of the month to: How to take care of your mental health, from the Birthplace of Carlos J. Finlay.
To this activity is added the drawing workshop, every Saturday of the month; given by the specialist Dairel Arcos Corso, belonging to the Fidelio Ponce Gallery.
On Wednesdays in August, the specialists of El Lugareño publishing house will carry out an online presentation of books from 10 am. Also on Fridays at that same time, with online transmission, the activity Steps with clowns will be carried out, starring Florecita and Cebollita from public spaces in the city.
Every Sunday the broadcasts will be dedicated to children at 9 and 10 in the morning; from the cultural institutions of the Office.
To compete in the summer
The contests will also catch the public’s attention. The “Look Again” photography contest, for professionals and amateurs of the lens, concluding with a virtual exhibition on August 19th, to celebrate the International Day of Photography; while “Creating from home” is dedicated to children and young people.
Depending on the measures adopted by the Temporary Working Group in the province, to make more flexible or maintain the regulations in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Historian’s Office may incorporate activities into the plan; to enjoy all together a summer where healthy recreation and health care will be the protagonists.
