To the rhythm of claves and drums, with all the Cuban flavor that the guaguancó contains, but with the voices that have always expressed the feelings of our people, amid pandemic and enemy attacks, a song titled: Conviction was born in Camagüey

Reynaldo Echemendía, director of the Folkloric Ballet of Camagüey and with the musical production of Wilmer Ferrán, director of Rumbatá were credited with authorship of this work; This union of talents and love for the identity roots of the land, has gifted our culture a melody committed to the future of the country.

The song

When I watched the premiere on national television, in the primetime that precedes the News, I could not hold back my happiness and pride in enjoying my people, our artists, giving joy and hope, but above all, expressing the certainty  that the symbols of the nation will be defended at all costs.

The squares of our legendary city were the best settings for the filming of the video clip, which from the Caonao studios gave life to this Conviction, of not allowing the arts to be manipulated by people without a flag; who sell dignity and take advantage of the material deficiencies imposed by the economic blockade and COVID-19, to engage in politics.

The guaguancó Conviction is loaded with that pro-independence base that gave life to the sincere expression of Cuban culture, like the author says “it is not a motto or a slogan” and yes, the latent sentiment of the people of Camagüey, members of the cavalry of Agramonte, who stood today to the rhythm of the claves, for the dignity of our country.
