The House of Diversity of Camagüey is one of the institutions that best reflects the cultural composition of the city of the waterpots.
The property, National Restoration Award winner in 2011, provides a space for exchange that favors multiculturalism. At the same time, it encourages the development of academic options to achieve a greater knowledge of the culture of Camagüey.
The house was owned by the Robirosa family; its facade is one of the main examples of the influence of Catalan architecture in the city and is also a sample of eclecticism in Camagüey buildings.
Nowadays, this institution, belonging to the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city, has in its mural paintings, one of the greatest attractions for visitors seeking to delve into history and art. It has four museum rooms that offer to the public a mixture of culture, traditions and religions from different parts of the world.
Its exhibition catalog includes a wide sample of valuable tableware, a Candita Batista costume, known as the Black Vedette of Cuba, among other attractions.
The different communities of descendants of different nations that live in Camagüey have in this institution a permanent place for dialogue and exchange, as well as the ideal venue for many of their meetings and activities.
The House of Diversity is an effort to increase the interest and consumption of the culture and history of Camagüey; and for assuming the coexistence of diverse cultures in our heritage memories.
