August begins with a marked love, especially for the people of Camagüey, because on its first day an event is celebrated, which although it is an act of deep affection and tenderness, it is also historical.
That day of the year 1868 they got married in Our Lady of Solitude church, in Camagüey; one of the most beautiful, emblematic and legendary couples in our country, the spouses were Francisca Margarita Amalia Simoni Argilagos and Ignacio Eduardo Agramonte Loynaz.
This idyll has always been an example for many Cubans who decide to unite their lives through marriage.
Experience, satisfaction and recommendations…
I confess that when I decided to get married, on the 13th of that same month, I did not know anything about this; In spite of being a very good native of Camagüey and studying History at the university.
44 years have passed since that event that although I cannot say, we have witnessed historical feats such as those of these relevant and famous characters, it has been loaded with great love, understanding, respect and mutual admiration, which fortunately has weathered through thick and thin; Well, living together is full of ups and downs and as a verse of a musical theme says, “ … you have to love each other a lot … ”, to be able to overcome the difficulties that arise daily on the road . But if there is love, that feeling that, as it also says in another song, “…it is the force that moves the Earth …”, then my friends, everything is possible, everything can be done, everything turns into something beautiful that no one can undo.
Today I can tell you that I have been and I am happy to have married someone who has given me great satisfaction, to have a family, like perhaps, the one that Amalia and Ignacio dreamed of, and unfortunately they did not quite enjoyed; an experience that I have been able to live to the fullest and I will always keep in the depths of my soul these past years, and with the gray hair that I already comb, although I dye them from time to time, I recommend young people who wish to marry: understand each other Love each other, be sincere with each other, so that true love lasts and becomes an authentic romance, like that experienced by El Mayor and his beloved wife.
