The fifteenth graduation of students from the Francisco Sánchez Betancourt Trade School was held this morning in the central Ignacio Agramonte Park. Nine students graduated at this educational institution that belongs to the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city, among them Leonardo Masyuán Patricio, who was the best student from his graduation.

The focus of the professional preparation of students is learning about practice, said María de los Ángeles Galera del Risco, director of this educational center. Their work on the ground was in the Necropolis of our city, as restorers and conservators. They were also trained at the Santa Cecilia Convention Center as construction painters.

Despite the complications this year due to COVID-19, the school year just ended satisfactorily and the students received the necessary preparation for their future professional lives at the Office of the Historian and other institutions.

This school has a 22-year history of operation and more than 300 graduates in the specialties of carpentry, masonry, archeology, among others; according to the needs of care and preservation of our heritage. In the hands of these young workers and technicians, our architectural wealth will remain, with an incalculable cultural and identity value.
