The Celebration for Cuban Culture comes every year, as always, from October 10th to the 20th. These days we celebrate dates that no Cuban, wherever they are, should forget, as they marked milestones in our history. These reveal the love, bravery and fortitude of which those of us who were born in this green alligator are made; children who also demonstrate abilities and values daily, and who, without being perfect, constitute a resistant, honest, and very faithful lineage to our feelings.
October 10th, start of the Celebration
The beginning of freedom for many men who had suffered mistreatment, hunger and humiliation for so many years, says a lot about the Father of the Nation, as the one who rang the bell there in Damajagua has been rightly called and began the path towards independence.
As on other occasions the country, each province, municipality and even Cuban town; celebrates this event in one way or another through a program of cultural activities prepared for this purpose, where different activities are carried out and involve all sectors of the population.
This time it has not been different, Agramonte Park received the people of Camagüey, their musicians and their authorities wearing their best clothes; knowing that in this place always chosen for its connotation, the absolute will to be better children of this town is honored every day, and to give the best for the legacy that has been transmitted to us since 1868.
Evocation and commitment
Satisfaction and commitment must be feelings that unite us all during this Day, now more than ever, because at this moment we are almost at the gates of the 510th Anniversary of the founding of the town, next February 2nd, 2024.
So… countrymen, people of Camagüey, I invite you all to strive to show your best clothes and make the feeling and essence of our nationality flourish in every action; make our own the beautiful Campaign that represents us at the moment, “Camagüey, pride that defines us” and make these days different: deeper, more Cuban. I am sure we can achieve it.
