As part of the celebrations for the day of Cuban culture, the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city presented the XX Anniversary Medal to 20 institutions and personalities that stand out for their significant dedication to Camagüey and Cuban culture.
“The Ácana publishing house has been working for years, bringing the interest in reading to the home of the people of Camaguey and this recognition by the Office of the Historian is an incentive to not cease in our efforts and to continue, through literature, contributing to the Cuban letters “pointed out Evelyn Queipo, who received the distinction on behalf of the Ácana publishing house.
For Andy Daniel Marrero “this distinction is a sign of the institution’s recognition of all the artists who dedicate their work to the city, and it is also an important motivation to continue creating.”
Meanwhile, the Director of the Office of the Historian of Camagüey city, José Rodríguez Barreras highlighted:
“Today among the awarded there are people who have defended the countryside roots from their space, others who have taken cultural projects to the communities and have the recognition of the inhabitants of those places, others who have defended the roots of Camagüey and Cuban culture from their daily work. This time we only awarded 20 distinctions, but we know that there are many more people and institutions who deserve it in equal measure because there are not a few who in this city from culture build their day to day. ”
Is award ceremony is part of the schedule of activities of the Office of the Historian to celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture, which includes virtual presentations of audiovisual materials linked to the cultural panorama of the province and the seventeenth graduation of the Francisco Sánchez Betancourt School of Trades, whose students focus their learning on tasks dedicated to the restoration and conservation of Cuban heritage, one more way to defend the national culture.
