Sometimes human beings do not know how to take advantage of the opportunities that we have around us. And I say this exactly because when walking through the streets of Maceo, Ignacio Agramonte, República and a part of Independencia, on more than one occasion we do not perceive the jewel that we are enjoying through the frequencies of Radio Príncipe, the station of the Office of the Historian; that airs from the Audiovisuales Príncipes Studios, located right on Maceo Street # 61 high, just above the Coopelia ice cream parlor.
Its background and current goals
This station, which had its antecedents in a base radio, with its audio booth that went on the air for the first time on October 20th, 2001, commemorating the Day of Cuban Culture; it was just a small project.
Today it has a greater connotation and its objectives are much more comprehensive, defined, ambitious and praiseworthy, carrying out a varied program that goes from informative programs, to promotional programs of general culture, history, mentions of public good and much more; but undoubtedly music plays a very important role for her.
And when we talk about music, we do not assess how valuable and beneficial this artistic manifestation is, perhaps we do not even know that it activates brain nuclei that in turn activate emotions, something that scientists continue to investigate and even, it has a magic that influences so much the physical body as in the ethereal, being able to calm it, as well as the soul.
So I invite you to stop and listen when you pass through those streets, because I am sure that you will grasp and learn something, and I urge you to take into account this thought of the English poet and playwright Robert Browning; that this station also tries to defend, when he said about music:
“Who hears music, feels his solitude peopled at once.”
