I recently learned, as I did not know, that every September 25th is World Pharmacist Day, and then the memory of someone I am very grateful came to mind, because he even taught me how to inject, something that has helped me much for how useful it is.
Making history
Here in our city, on San Esteban or Oscar Primelles Street, whatever you want to call it, at number 466, between Lope Recio and República Street; a man named Joaquín Núñez lived many years ago, someone who was very renowned in the area and respected, as he was a famous pharmacist and from whom many neighbors used his services frequently, as he gave us medical advice and injected more than a person without any interest, at any time that was needed.
Essential work
In these times in which the country owes so much to these men and women who dedicate themselves to this science and who have dedicated their lives to the manufacture of medicines, vaccine candidates, vaccines themselves, among others, I believe we will always be in debt, because without their intelligence and dedicated work that have been essential, it would not have been possible to show the achievements that we have today.
That is why when I heard about that dedication, I was happy, because I have had the opportunity to visit the Center for Genetics and Biotechnology here in our city, and I know of the consecration they have, I said to myself: how good, because behind each bottle, each blister, each vial, we can find the effort of these wonderful beings.
Then I also remembered that that good man, of whom I began talking in this article, wrote verses and one day he recited these to me that I present you today and why not, I dedicate them to those who often wear blue, in their daily work:
Vestida de azul saliste ,
a competir con el cielo ,
que también hay en el suelo,
cielo que de azul se viste.
