The city changes over time, even its toponymy is transformed; is that the coming and going of the constant evolution of our species impregnates even a name with nuances.

Today is the anniversary of the official name change of Estrada Palma Street, to that of Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz.

In this street since February 4th, 2014, it was inaugurated in the middle of the celebrations for the 500 years of the founding of the town the Thematic Walk of the Cinema. With this action, tribute was paid to the seventh art, in its more than 100 years of existence and a modern scene was diversified, for a street that treasures a rich memory.

When you cross this artery full of history, we culminate between the church, the park and the birthplace, returning to the roots of a man who taught us that shame is enough to win any battle, in his honor the street bears his name: “Ignacio Agramonte”.
