Camagüey is a restless city. Perhaps that is why, even in bookstores, you can feel that smell of coffee that wakes up its people little by little and, at the same time, ensures that, while waiting for the infusion and good company, the book is also an option.
The city chooses, in correspondence with the visible work carried out by the Provincial Book and Literature Center, in conjunction with other institutions, for the status of UNESCO’s Creative Literary City, a reason to celebrate, from this region, World Cities Day.
Because how good it would be to share the pleasant news that a very rich literary history of the land of Nicolás Guillén, Gertrudis Gómez or more noble authors and committed to local letters gives.
Then, intoxicated by the exquisite aroma, we can proudly speak of how much is done in terms of preserving our heritage, both in the tangible and in that which is part of the identity of a Camagüeyan, and also for bringing its inhabitants closer to the spirituality that transits the presence of a book.
How good it would be to have in other October, and while waiting for a coffee, that here, where urban and social development grows, designed for the pleasant coexistence of its inhabitants; there is another condition to maintain with suspicion as we take care of that of World Heritage.
A day for cities, thinking about them and building them all together, is an inspiring date to appropriate a cultural and economic center where best practices and opportunities are generated. From Camagüey, we also do it through the spirituality of literature. Through it you can learn about this city that already has the smell of coffee.
