From May 19 to 21 will take place the 8th Conference on Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, convened by the Office of the Historian of Camagüey City (OHCC). At the Santa Cecilia Convention Center will converge scholars from Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus, Baracoa, Bayamo, Matanzas, Havana, Pinar del Río and Guantánamo, as well as Camagüey.
The 23 presentations will deal with the dance traditions, the patron saint festivities, the College System, cigar makers, the migratory processes, the influence of legal codes and intangible heritage, among other topics that will remind us how much of Spain runs through the veins of Cubans in this great cultural ajiaco that we are.
On the first day, the theoretical program will feature a special presentation by Katherine Muller-Marin, Director of the UNESCO Regional Culture Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, while on Tuesday the 21st, the Living Heritage Award 2019 will be presented. Dedicated to outstanding people or institutions in the preservation of cultural heritages.
Within the collateral program of the 8th Conference on Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development highlights the presentation of the Ijujú choir, in the José Marín Varona Concert Hall, the artistic gala with children of the Madiú project, the Vocational School of Art, Andarte and Harlequin, the documentary exhibition of the funds from the OHCC archive and loans from the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum and the sale of books by El Lugareño Publishing.
